Embed url works fine. I can place it as a link in emails or in the joomla article as a link. Unlike [[youtube]] when I embed the the iframe code and get an image of the video that is "clickable" on the public side of the joomla article/webpage. This is an annoying issue, but I can work around it.
Rumble and [[youtube]] seem to be different so they force you to pick one and go with that. Greed trumps all!
